You can become a member of the Campaign to Protect Rural England from just £3 a month. Joining is the single most effective way to stand up for the countryside.
As a member, you and your family get discounted entry to around 200 of England's most splendid houses and gardens. You will also get our regular Countryside Voice magazine full of news, features and more.

Capesthorne Hall
The Hall dates from 1719 when it was originally designed by the Smiths of Warwick. It was altered in 1837 by Blore and partly re-built by Salvin in 1861 following a disastrous fire. Georgian Chapel, herbaceous borders, lakeside gardens, woodland walks.

White Scar Cave
The longest show cave in Britain. The guided tour takes about 80 minutes and covers one mile. See underground waterfalls and streams, thousands of stalactites, and the massive Battlefield Cavern.

Jane Austen's House

Verulamium Museum
The Museum is a fantastic place to find out about everyday Roman life. Built on the site of one of the largest Roman settlements in Britain, the museum is packed with Roman objects & you can explore the remains of the Roman town. Merriments Gardens
Merriments Gardens is a beautiful 4-acre garden set in the rolling East Sussex countryside. Many of the plants are grown in the nursery, specialising in unusual perennials, which you can buy in the Plant Centre. The shop has a large range of compost, tools and garden sundries, together with gifts and cards. Harvington Hall
This moated medieval and Elizabethan manor house is owned by the Archdiocese of Birmingham. It has the best-surviving series of secret priests’ hiding places in the country, and rare Elizabethan wall paintings. Facilities include a gift shop, Moatside Tea Room and charming walled gardens.

Wildwood

Freud Museum London
Visit London’s most intriguing historic house museum. The Freud Museum was the final home of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, who came here after fleeing Nazi-occupied Vienna. Fishbourne Roman Palace

Larmer Tree
Set in the outstanding landscape of the Cranborne Chase, on the Dorset/Wiltshire border, these beautifully laid out gardens were created by General Pitt Rivers in 1880.
