Before Nick Pickles created his BeachCare group in 2010 the only one picking up litter in Polzeath seemed to be Nick.

Winner: The Cogges Link Road Campaigners, CPRE Oxfordshire

For a quarter of a century, a small group at CPRE Oxfordshire spearheaded a campaign to oppose the building of the Cogges Link Road, a road scheme intended to relieve some of the traffic problems in Witney, at the heart of Prime Minister David Cameron’s constituency.
